Under the supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, or designee, performs cashiering duties which include the preparation of the daily deposit, collecting patient payments and issuing receipts, and providing general customer service assistance with patient account inquiries.
Primary Duties and Responsibiliities :
Cashiering Reconciles daily patient payments received in Admitting, Patient Access, Emergency Department, and Out Patient Registration with transaction report Counts, bundles, bags, and labels patient payments according to the Accounting Department deposit process Logs all non-patient receipts from all 1 other hospital departments Receives patient payments and provides receipts Provides basic assistance with patient account inquiries Itemized Billingi Requests Prints itemized bills for attorneys' office request for patient statements Maintains log of copy service drop off/and pick up of requests and billing statements pursuant to a subpoena Documents and scans billing requests to each account Non-Essential Duties:
Assist with insurance verification as need Assist with the operations of the Registration Compliance Auditor as needed Assist with other duties as assigned, within skill sets and abilities Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience:
Education High School graduate or equivalent Experience Minimum 1-year previous experience working within an office environment doing clerical functions Minimum 1-year cashiering experience within an office environment, healthcare preferred Required Licensure and/or Certifications:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
