4 Lancaster, CA Lancaster, CA Full-time Full-time $20 - $22 an hour $20 - $22 an hour Summary The Client Resources and Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for processing registration for new and established clients, screening for enrollment in subsidized programs, verifying insurance benefits including PCP changes, and making financial arrangements to ensure maximum reimbursement to Bartz Altadonna Community Health Center.
Must have excellent customer service, computer experience, and mathematical skills.
Must demonstrate professional behavior and attitude in all job duties and responsibilities.
Screen clients on a one-to-one basis to determine eligibility for federal and state-funded health insurance programs; assess patient eligibility; gather required eligibility documentation; submit applications to appropriate programs; CHDP, Every Woman Counts, Family PACT, and My Health LA.
Work as a liaison between the patient and managed care entities to enhance patient enrollment and retention.
Essential Functions - Maintain daily schedule including confirming appointments, contacting no shows, rescheduling appointments, sign in/check-in/check-out clients.
- Register clients per registration protocols and collect identifying information such as state ID/DL and insurance cards - Scan required documentation into EMR per protocol.
- Review and verify client coverage of insurance and financial data and computes the charges to be paid by the client.
- Collects co-pays or deductibles prior to the client being seen by the provider using established policies and procedures.
- Completes the No Surprise Act cost estimate form for commercial plan clients.
- Follow protocol when collecting cash from clients.
- Maintain a high accuracy rate when entering appropriate client information into Epic.
- Maintain patient privacy and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Follow proper telephone etiquette and protocol when answering phone calls.
- Manage necessary BACHC related paperwork for clients.
Stock and organize paperwork.
- Follow-up on no-show registration appointments daily.
- Assist with scheduling transportation provided by health plans, per client need.
- Support, when possible, with translating.
- Maintain a clean and orderly area.
- Track and follow-up on submitted My Health LA applications to ensure clients are approved.
- Keep current on rules and procedures of federal and state-funded programs including commercial carriers and other public services.
- Gain and maintain eligibility guidelines and documentation requirements for state and federal health insurance programs.
- Evaluate and resolve problems related to insurance issues and advocate for the client, including assisting with PCP changes.
- Educate clients on programs to ensure they understand what they cover.
- Educate clients on the benefits of My Chart and complete the activation.
- Perform clerical work as needed.
- Enroll clients in California or federal health insurance programs and submit applications o CHDP o Every Woman Counts o Family PACT o MY Health LA Screen uninsured and underinsured clients for the Sliding Fee Scale program by reviewing income and dependent information.
Request and obtain the documentation necessary to complete the application.

Other duties as assigned COMPUTER SKILLS:
Require knowledge of office equipment.
Microsoft excel and Microsoft Word useful.
Computer proficiency required, including the ability to enter data with accuracy.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate copayments using Sliding Fee Scale formula sheet.
Ability to calculate estimate costs including coinsurance percentages and deductible amounts.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent of education and experience.
Knowledge of medical procedures and practices helpful.
