Business Services Representative/ Rapid Response Coordinator introduces lay-off support services to individuals being laid-off from last/current employer as well as introduces programs and services provided at Job Centers of California, EDD offices, Departments of Labor and other services entities.
Locates businesses laying off and/or furloughing staff due to plant/department closures, permanent layoffs throughout Los Angeles County.
Arranges and conducts orientations; assists a diverse pool of program participants with their career planning and career decision-making process, including intensive career counseling, assessment, and job search assistance and retention services.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required BA or BS degree in Career Counseling, communications, or related experience Proven track record in business-to-business sales in a performance driven occupation Requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written Requires the ability to understand labor market information and employer requirements Must be very comfortable cold calling, networking and opening new business Public speaking and presentations are mandated Must be highly organized, detail orientated and work within time restraints and deadlines.
Work flexible hours, early morning, evenings and weekends may be required At least two years of experience in Workforce Development or career counseling or transferable skills Bilingual fluency (e.
g.
, English/ASL, English/Spanish, etc.
) and ability understand another culture as required by the program or local community highly desired.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
